What nurses say..
I am Angela Martie, 34 years old and have almost given up on my dreams of becoming a Nurse. Like any other Filipino nurses, I struggled in pursuing the Nursing career due to the financial insufficiency whilst in Cebu Philippines. I was lucky to be given a chance by the Airline and Aviation industry to pick myself up and sustain for my family and myself working in the Middle East for 9 years. I am very grateful for the life skills I've learned being abroad with the non-Nursing career that I pursued despite the thought of still wanting to be a Nurse. And then one day, I was laid off. I thought my world would collapse but I always try to see the glass half full and find another way to survive. I was yet again blessed with another Aviation company that hired me, but in the back of my mind, where would this career really lead me? Do I really want to be in this and give up my dreams as a nurse? It turned out that losing my job may have been a blessing in disguise and woke me up to pursue my nursing career! Like any other huge dreams, it wasn't easy, but I refuse to believe that it cannot be done. With hardrdwork, perseverance, motivation, patience, good intentions, respect to others, and humility, I made it through with GHR Dubai! Oh, and a lot of tears, some, of sadness, but mostly of joy! I have worked full time in the Aviation company whilst reviewing my tests for the UK Nursing path hand in hand with GHR Dubai. They have been like a family to me that supported me with my plans and genuinely always being there every step of the way. We had difficulties along the way but they were there for me until the end. With my nursing gap of 8 years, I could have easily just given up the dream, but with GHR and Nottingham University Hospitals, they made the most important milestone in my life beyond unimaginably glorious! I will never forget how they have cried with me, and have stuck with me despite of the fact being the underdog in the line up. With GHR, there's no dream that is impossible to achieve. I genuinely, unutterly grateful to you guys for leading me to Nottingham University Hospitals, who were equally gracious and kind to me for accepting me in their hospital!
